This free and useful Eye Grading app from THE VISION CARE INSTITUTE® in the UK is a digital and optimised version of a hardcopy version based on Professor Nathan Efron’s Grading Scale. It was developed to improve patient care through enhanced clinical precision.
The Eye Grading app goes beyond the 5-point scale of the hardcopy grading scales and enables Eye Care Professionals to record the severity of each patient’s condition in 0.1 increments.
The app enables Eye Care Professionals to:
•Evaluate nine common ocular presentations: bulbar redness, corneal staining, lid redness, lid roughness, limbal redness, meibomian gland dysfunction, pterygium, pinguecula and cortical cataract.
•Grade severity levels by scrolling a real-time animation based on touch.
•Evaluate the clinical change of an ocular presentation by comparing levels in 0.1 increments side-by-side.
•Demonstrate clinical assessment to patients.
•Export a report for practice records without collecting personal data.
•View a comprehensive assessment guide including slit lamp illumination techniques, corneal inflammation vs. infection, signs of oxygen deficiency, staining and lid assessments and more.
